I think if I did Naked and Afraid again my one survival item would be my pink surfboard – it’s saved my life multiple times – just received these haunting pics from @alexvoyer_fisheye of last week’s top secret mission into the depths of the Paris Catacombs. ☠️ On our way through the maze of 300km of mine tunnels full of skeletons, suddenly, like something out of an Indiana Jones film, the chambers filled with water and we had to strip down and float our belongings through on my board. Yes it’s was freeeeezing but much better then being stuck forever in the “Worlds Largest Grave.” What item would you choose? #getoutalive @pelicanprofessional #teampelican #alisonsadventures #surfingparis #halloween

“Holy sheeeet are these human bones?” I yelled out loud last night as I crawled on all fours, groping my way along the rough walls of a tiny tunnel over 100 feet underground. I had been wandering for hours through forbidden passageways of an over 300km long maze called The Catacombs, which runs in three levels under Paris and holds the skeletons of over 6 million souls, making it the “world’s largest grave.” On this life-long quest to accomplish a top secret mission, which I will reveal in weeks to come, I found myself in smaller and smaller passageways and soon I had to slither on my stomach across what I thought was loose rock only to find it was human SKELETONS. Spending all night underground in these ancient mines changed my life and the flickering light of my lantern revealed the most Indiana Jones-like expedition of my existence, and will be burned in my memory forever. I’d like to share the slightly morbid, yet hopefully inspiring realization I had: Life is what we make of it. It’s a grand journey through many unexpected chambers of happiness, sadness, shock, and fear. When the pressure is on and the walls of life are closing in, how gracefully can you get through it? Do you get stuck between tunnels and join the dead before you are truly dead? One day life WILL end and we have a choice to leave our mark on the world before we becomes pile of bones. If you get the chance, go take a risk and push yourself out of your comfort zones because you may discover a whole new world where dreams come true and every element of your mind, body and soul will be tested to make you fight for your survival and teamwork … and always make sure you bring the two most important survival items – your pink surf board and sense of humor…📷 thank you @alexvoyer_fisheye for snapping this on your iPhone before we were up to our necks in freezing water. ☠️

Kilauea volcano eruption is flowing into the sea. Since I was a 3 year old naked wahine dancing hula on the lava rocks in front of my home, I always felt a connection with the earth, or the Aina as Hawaiians call it. One of my biggest dreams was to paddle my pink surfboard in a volcanic area to feel a true connection to earth being formed. Today my dream came true. With the guidance, support, and prayer of the elders, and following cultural protocol, I paddled within feet of hot lava rivers pouring into the ocean. It was humbling and breathtaking. The rawness, the heat, the crackling & hissing sounds, the reality check that we live on a planet that is alive. Many people think that we have control over the earth and I assure you we are pretty small in the greater scheme of things. What I learned through this experience is that life is short, fragile, and not worth stressing about. Everything is always in a constant state of flux – especially our molten core. Nothing is permanent, nothing is owned, nothing is for certain. We are but a tiny, wild planet in a huge universe and as humans we have been put on this earth to pour lava onto everyone and erupt our greatness onto the world so that it flows into the lives of others and forms solid families, friends, religions, politicians, and hardens into peaceful long lasting structures for our futures generations to build on. I saw the Goddes of the lava Pele in many manifestations – her face in the molten flow and her voice in my head. She reminded me that as women on this earth we have a duty to inspire, to flow with grace, and to live as the wild child that first reached it’s legs to the earth. Thus I post this not as a photo to get views or praise or critique, but to share one of the most powerful moments of my life magically caught on camera by photographer @perrinjames1 – grateful to the support team for this life changing experience. I lava you all 🌋 IMPORTANT: I do not recommend doing this nor encourage it EVER, the water is boiling, the fumes are lethal and the ocean conditions are beyond treacherous. #alisonsadventures #lava #volcano
